Masterson’s Pub , positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my latest trip at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I experienced behind its doors was appalling and beyond comprehension .
Cleanliness Issues : Unhygienic and Abandoned
From the moment I crossed the threshold, it was clear that sanitation was not a priority at this venue. The floors were sticky , and a pungent odor of stale beer and neglected washrooms permeated the entire establishment . Emitting a scent of a mixture of ammonia , decay and illness . The serving zone , which should be the focal point of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and litter that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks . The lavatory was in even more deplorable shape — clogged , with a broken handle and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

Many customers have reported observing cockroaches darting across the counter and proof of vermin in the storage spaces .
